Discover How Rockets of Awesome Makes Majorly Original Wares for Minis

Cool kids wanted. Rockets of Awesome has become our go-to for clothes that cool kiddos love and busy moms and dads love. Built by a team of of real parents who are picky about quality and tapped in to the latest and greatest kids’ trends, they’ve mastered the push pull between practicality and personalization. On September 14th starting at 4:30pm, they’re swinging by to give your creative kiddos a chance to customize their raddest-ever bomber jacket and tees. Here, founder Rachel Blumenthal shares how she defines originality and pushes to keep on creating.

Define originality in six words or less:

Unique, Different, Unexpected, Over-The-Top Awesome

How do you stay original and continue to create new work when everything is out there all the time?

I NEVER look at the brands and players in the kids category. Instead I’m looking at men’s and women’s fashion, home decor, art, pop culture, etc. That’s what I find inspiring.

If you could be copied for one thing, what would it be and why?

Our silver bomber jackets have become iconic of the Rockets of Awesome brand. The bomber jackets are a token of the coolest inclusive kids club we’re creating – which exists to support and celebrate kids’ individuality and confidence. Anyone who wants to align with us on supporting and driving that independence and confidence among kids is welcome to join our mission!

Who creatively do you look to as a true, unfiltered original?

Marilyn Minter

What’s on the agenda for your event at STORY?

What’s one fact we can’t find out about you on Google?

I’m a multi-tasking, organizational pro. I was also a competitive figure skater growing up 🙂
