Executive + Administrative Assistant to CEO


Rachel Shechtman, founder of STORY, is seeking an individual to support her with her daily personal and business needs. Tasks range from scheduling and organizing to running errands and more: everything that supports her day-to-day operations.  Given Rachel’s vast commitments and busy schedule, she can guarantee that no two days will ever be the same!  The potential growth and opportunity within this position depends on the individual who fills it.  The role will be on in which you interact the larger STORY team.  Given the changing nature of our business, there are tremendous opportunities for learning and growth.


  • Managing complex and ever changing business and social calendars
  • Ensuring her scheduled commitments are met
  • Ensuring her deliverables are met to clients, staff
  • Coordinating  travel
  • Drafting emails, preparing expense reports, and supporting business operations
  • Coordinate vendor communications for STORY events and related functions
  • Creating, implementing and maintaining home and work office organization system for mail, bills, magazines, business contacts
  • Implementing and maintaining procedures/administrative systems for the founder and the corporate office
  • Coordinating daily tasks: gifts, dry cleaning, grocery shipping, answering telephone calls
  • Arranging and coordinating appointments and reservations


  • The ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with an ever changing list of priorities
  • Impeccable communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Knowledge of PC and Mac
  • Able to think creatively on your feet
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Minimum 2 year in a support/Assistant role
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
